| Men's Mentor groupsGROUP A Day: Monday Time: 7:00am Place : Meet at the church in room H (south wing) Topic: Bible Memory Plan Comments: This group meets weekly to hold each other accountable to memorizing two Bible verses per week. Time is given to study the passages and context from which the verses come from as well as a verbal review of current and past verses. GROUP B Day: Tuesday Time: 7:00am Place: Overflow room (west wing) Topic: The Gospel of Mark Comments: this group is shares the weekly leadership by leading the discussion through sections of each chapter of the Gospel of Mark. This is a great study on the life of Christ answering the three questions 1. who is Jesus?, 2. why did he come?, and 3. how should we respond? GROUP C Time: 7:30 am Topic: The Pastoral Letters and Church Leadership Comments: This group of mostly retired men meets each week to explore the bible and reflect on how we ought to live in repsonse. This is a discussion based group so no preparation is necessary, we even supply the Bible, if you do not have one. Some time is spent in prayer. Often, after the meeting, members of the group who can meet at someone's home for coffee. GROUP D NOTE: THIS GROUP IS NOT MEETING DURING THE SUMMER Time: 6:30 p.m. Comments: This group is using material from The Men's Fraternity. This is the second set in this series and will begin the first Wednesday evening in October. Topics cover a wide range of men issues related to understanding women, training our children, dealing with money, and making an impact at work. This is an excellent study for men with younger families.
GROUP E Another group is being formed to focus on deeper theological issues. Participants of this group are expected to do significant home study and come to the meetings well prepared. Besides Bible study proper, participants will also be reading chapters from Systematic Theology text books on occassion. Accountablility, prayer, developing skills for study and teaching as well as Bible memory will be part of this group.
