Jonah and Amy Haddad
We serve with EFCA ReachGlobal, living and ministering in the city of Lyon, France, where we are involved primarily in church planting and evangelism.  Our ministry here also includes discipleship, prayer, and teaching.  It is our desire to see healthy communities of worshipers develop among the people of Lyon.  This desire comes with many challenges as we encounter a population of people who come from a diverse religious background.  A majority of people here are atheist or nonreligious, and the remainder of the population follows various religions and philosophies that are very much opposed to Christianity.

Lyon is a beautiful city whose population is fast approaching 2,000,000, but only a small minority follow Christ.  The huge Catholic basilica that sits on the hill overlooking our city is a reminder of the Christian heritage that dates back even to the first century A.D. when Christianity first arrived here.  Our prayer is that God would once again be glorified in this city.  If you are interested in learning more about Lyon and the ministry that is taking place here, please contact us and we would love to share more.

Charles and Shelly  (Last name withheld)

We minister in Łódź, Poland.  The city of Łódź is located in the center of Poland.  Łódź is a hard working city with lots of places to shop.  We have 3 major shopping centers and one long walking street with many shops on both sides of the street.  Łódź has about 800,000 people, most of who do not walk with God.  It is our desire to see many people living for God's glory and that they would come together and form a church planting movement.  We are focused on 4 areas: prayer, church planting, equipping church planters, and team development. We would love to have you come and join us to grab an oar and help us lead others to Jesus for God's glory.  We are looking for those who have a clear calling from God to work with us in Łódź.  Most people here have religion as part of their background, but in most cases it is not a relationship with God.  We want to change that and work alongside other believers to see a movement of God begin in this city.  It is great to see some pastors gathering together to pray and ask God to honor His name in Łódź, Poland.  Łódź is pronounced just like "huge" except you need to remove the "h" and replace it with a "w" = wuge.  If you would like to come and join us, please contact the missions committee.

Larry and Bella Mori

Larry and Bella, with children Timothy and Tiffany, are serving in Japan.  They have started a new church called Sendai Izumi EFC in NE Japan in the burgeoning  northern suburb of the city of Sendai (population of 1.1 million).  It is only the third Evangelical Free Church in NE Japan on the main island of Honshu.
“Our church’s purpose, is to live in obedience to Jesus (discipleship)  due to thankfulness for Jesus’ love for us (worship), and to multiply healthy churches in NE Japan by winning Japanese to Christ (evangelism).”

Garth and Jody Pederson

Garth and Jody, along with their children, Samuel, Anna, and Nicholas, are missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship serving in the Democratic Republic of Congo, based in Kinshasa, the capital city. A highlight of their ministry is seeing God use their skills and availability to bless the Congolese people.

“We enable missionaries and national pastors to bring the Gospel message to remote areas of Congo. We transport critically-needed medical personnel and supplies to places with no other medical care. We fly Bible translators in to review translation projects and train national translators. We provide flights for disaster relief which have included volcanic eruptions, tornadoes, and outbreaks of disease. We also fly medical evacuation flights and vaccines for Congo’s children.”

Gary and Chris Persons

We are working with Wycliffe Bible Translators.  Our desire is for the Bolinao people in the Philippines to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and have their lives transformed by God's Word in the language they understand best, the language of their heart.  Along with a team of co-translators, we’re translating the New Testament into the Bolinao language.  Gary and his first wife, Diane, began working in the translation project in the late '70s.  After Diane's death, Chris joined Gary in the project as his wife in 2005.

We’re in the revision stage of the Bolinao New Testament after which we’ll be ready for typesetting and then publishing the manuscript. We hope, Lord willing, to hold a dedication service for the completed Bolinao New Testament and distribute it to the people in the spring of 2012.

During the revision process, the Revision Consultant is taking a close look at about 35% of the Bolinao New Testament (for the most part portions that were translated in earlier years) primarily focusing on exegesis and consulting with the team on other areas of the process.  The translation team, however, is taking a second look at all of the books, checking not only exegesis but also the clarity and naturalness of the Bolinao, consistency in key terms and parallel passages, preparing supplementary helps to be included with the New Testament, and other general details needed to prepare the manuscript for publication.
